History of the project (Part I)

The aim of this blog is to provide some background information but more importantly to provide up to date information on what is happening within the project.

The project was set up initially by 2 people living in the UK wishing to help some others less fortunate than themselves by fundraising to improve living conditions and share expertise from the UK to Bolivia.

The specifics of the project are that various fundraising projects in the UK (largely in Hampshire) have been used to directly help disabled orphans who live in IDAI (Instituto de Adaptacion Infantil) in La Paz, Bolivia.  Many of the children had been abondoned early in their lives due to the poverty or the family they were born into and additionally many people feel a great stigma in having a disabled child so for both these reasons many disabled children become orphans and need somewhere to stay.  IDAI is run by the government in Bolivia but many of the children´s basic needs are not met due to lack of funds and staff.
